Tide predictions are estimates
Tides in TideCatch are predictions computed on your device from public harmonic constants. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure, waves, river flow and other conditions, and predictions may contain errors.
TideCatch is not a navigation aid. Always check official sources and local conditions before going on the water, onto rocks, sandbars or tidal flats. Tides can rise quickly: keep a safe way back and follow warnings from local maritime authorities, the Japan Coast Guard, the Korea Coast Guard, NOAA or the U.S. Coast Guard.
Fishing rules
TideCatch does not provide fishing regulations. Please follow local licence requirements, closed seasons, size and bag limits, fishing rights and restricted areas.
Your data
Your catches and spots are stored on your device (and in your private iCloud if you enable sync). You are responsible for keeping backups. We cannot recover data that was never sent to us.
TideCatch Pro
Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase through the App Store. There is no subscription, no trial and no automatic renewal. Family Sharing is supported. Refunds are handled by Apple. If a purchase is refunded, Pro features stop working, but your existing data stays viewable and exportable with the free backup.
Tides, all stations, the tide calendar and widgets are free and will never show ads.
Licence and acceptable use
You may use TideCatch for personal purposes under these terms and Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Do not misuse the service, send automated or abusive reports, or attempt to interfere with our servers.
Disclaimer and liability
TideCatch is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on tide predictions or from loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country.
Third-party data
Tide data comes from NOAA, the Japan Meteorological Agency and the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency, as described on the Data sources page. These organizations do not endorse TideCatch.
